Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a popular process for DOC or COD removal. The process is a so-called 3-phase system consisting of water, air and solids.
Questions we have answered for our customers include:
- Where is the optimal coagulant dosing location to achieve the most effective mixing?
- How to design the system to avoid dead zones and short-circuiting?
- How to design the DAF system as compact as possible?
We have an in-house 3-phase CFD model for DAF, including the water, fine bubbles (i.e. 'white water') and solids.
